Claims Director

EPIC are looking for a Director to join a large company within Construction Claims sector. You would look to help further develop and give future direction to the planning & delay analysis team. The position comes with the responsibility of developing your own and companys name in the Yorkshire region and worldwide supplemented by your participation in dispute and Expert Witness commissions sourced from our global claims business with disputes ranging from between £50,000 up to £2+ billion on individual international disputes.
Ideal applicants should have a minimum of 10 years construction industry planning experience coupled to which should be at least 3 years in delay analysis / construction litigation support work plus construction and ideally construction legal qualifications. What is essential is demonstrable experience of at least acting as Principal Assistant to Expert or as Expert Witness.
Duties and responsibilities would include:
- Preparation of advice, reports, presentations etc.
- Liaising with clients and their Lawyers and assisting in the provision of services to those clients.
- Participate in promoting, building and raising the companys profile in the local market and the industry.
- Keeping up-to-date with current techniques of data analysis
- Keeping up-to-date with current presentation software and techniques
- Reviewing documentation and data
- Tabulating and analysing data using excel and database software
The position holder will be a key member of a small, dedicated team of claims specialists advising and assisting the project owner on matters concerning claims, contentious commercial issues and disputes across all contracts.
Ideally the suitable candidate should have the following:
- BSc. In QS, Law and Arbitration or equivalent, MRICS.
- 10 to15 years commercial / contracts / claims experience.
- Preference given to applicants demonstrating senior client side claims management experience.
- Major multi-disciplinary, multi contractor infrastructure project experience essential.
- Evidence of quality report writing / advice drafting skills required.
- A clear communicator able to distil and quickly analyse extensive project information.
- FIDIC experience preferred.
- Demonstrable skills in claims management and claims resolution strategies essential.
